Development Teams
Freestylerz 1 (Ages 12 and above, Training 1 day / weekend)

This program is for athletes 11 and above who are interested in developing their skills in freestyle skiing. All participants must have a strong parallel turn and be able to competently ski a black diamond run. The program is offered at Cypress, Grouse and Hemlock mountains on either Saturday or Sunday. Participants in the program are invited to compete if they are interested in experiencing competition. Training at Grouse mountain will focus more on the slope-style discipline of the sport, while that of Cypress Mountain will take advantage of it 2010 Olympic facility and focus more on moguls and jumps.

The program begins on January 7/8, 2012 and continues for 10 weeks. For athletes new to our program, there is a skier assessment day on December 11, 2011 which will allow us to arrange the classes by skier ability and to identify participants that may not yet meet the entry requirements.

Fee for the Freestylerz 1 Program is $525. Fees include on-mountain instruction and the end of the season club event. This fee does NOT include CFSA/BCFSA membership and insurance, equipment, or lift tickets.

If your athlete plans on competing, there is an additional fee of $55 for each day of competition to cover coaching costs. Also budget for competition entry fees, and travel expenses.
